Big Mike loved golf. It was where he built lasting friendships, strengthened relationships, and spent quality time with people who shared his love of the game. Golf provided exercise, camaraderie, and—after his colorectal cancer returned in 2020—a welcome respite from the realities of living with cancer.

Golf wasn’t just a passion; it was also part of his career in the turf industry. Throughout his journey, Michael spoke openly with friends, colleagues, and fellow golfers about his battle with colorectal cancer. He understood that every conversation had the power to educate someone, encourage screening, or help another family recognize the signs before it was too late.

The Big Mike’s Bottom Line Golf Invitational honors his legacy by keeping those conversations alive, inviting new ones, and sharing the spirit of all the survivors, caregivers, and warriors impacted by colorectal cancer.

We believe the golf course is one of the best places to change the conversation around colorectal cancer. Over four hours, people of different ages, professions, and backgrounds naturally connect, share stories, and build relationships. That environment creates countless opportunities to normalize conversations about colorectal health and spread lifesaving knowledge.

Our goal is simple: Every participant leaves with more than a great day of golf. We want every golfer, sponsor, volunteer, and guest to leave with information they can share with family, friends, coworkers, and neighbors—creating a ripple effect that extends far beyond the 18th hole.

Together, those ripples become waves of hope, break down stigma, and save lives.

Because, one conversation can lead to one screening. One screening can save one life.
