"Pay attention to your SH!% and know what symptoms to look for. Get tested as soon as possible for CRC because it is being found more often in young adults."

Michael is my brother from another mother, AKA…Chosen Family! We met through our wives and oldest sons. We had some things in common: We love and protect our family, being fathers of two boys, sports and competition (poker nights sometimes got a little crazy), good food and an occasional adult beverage. I think the thing I enjoyed most about Michael was we were comfortable being ourselves around each other. We could sit in silence and be perfectly fine or, we could talk trash to each other and not get angry. We looked out for each other like brothers should!

I have learned first and foremost, to pay attention to your SH!% and know what symptoms to look for. Next, get tested as soon as possible for CRC because it is being found more often in young adults. Lastly, CRC is treatable if found soon enough.

As a board member I hope to help educate people on the symptoms of CRC. I want people to be comfortable talking about their poop to their doctor. I want to help advocate for testing at age 30 and testing every 5 years after age 50. After seeing first hand what Michael, MaryBeth, Michael Jr, and Alex had to endure fighting this awful disease and if I can help prevent someone else and their family from having to deal with losing a loved one to CRC, it will be well worth my time and effort.”
